DefinitionCount of special needs children or teens who have received School Readiness services. ‘Special needs’ means any physical, mental or health care condition that affects or prevents a child's ability to develop, achieve, and/or function in an early learning setting at a typical rate.
CalculationYear-to-date unique count of children by county, coalition, or state. To be included in the results, the child must have received school readiness payments during the report period that sum to a value greater than 0. The child’s last care level during the period must be either SPCR or SPTN.
NotesA distinct child is defined as the unique combination of a child ID with a date of birth. A child is counted in the oldest age group for the period.
